When I sit in meditation, my goal is to calm my thoughts, the "fluctuations of my mind," and to be present. Being present is a long way toward calming the mind, because let's face it, most of these thought fluctuations are about the past or the future.

Nothing wrong with that. Nor with the other gazillion benefits that we all could think of.

The blog geeks are sexy make this intriguing proposal. It suggests that after a 15 minute nap, wake up telling yourself that a new day has arrived and you are rested and ready to face its challenges from a fresh perspective.

That's a great idea. For those who can't nap on demand, a good meditation session should reboot you as well.

stopwatchSometimes I'm guilty of what I call "military eating." Eat as much as you can as fast as you can because you don't know when you will be able to eat again.

There's absolutely no need for that in my life. I've got plenty of food and I can eat it when I need it. But that doesn't stop me on occasions from eating like it's the last meal I'll get for a week.
