HFT to Solve your Training Problems

Hard work will get you very far in life, but hard work plus proper and smart planning will get you even farther. This is what separates the achievers from the over-achievers. One of my favorite forms of training is High Frequency Training (HFT). HFT allows you to achieve multiple goals at once and gives you the freedom of changing various aspects of your routine as you see fit.

New Research on Protein

It has long been suspected that eating protein induces a feeling of satiety. I noticed 20 years ago that diet specialty foods from Jennie Craig always had addedSteak protein. Protein's suspected ability to make the dinner feel full is probably the key to the success of the Atkins (low carb). Eating protein, many concluded, makes you feel full and you eat less.

Good News for Milk Drinkers

A recent study showed that milk was more effective at burning fat and gaining muscle when taken after weight training.

The group that drank milk had some pretty impressive gains over the groups that drank comparable soy drinks and high carb energy drinks.

I'd really be excited about this if one of the funders was not the US National Dairy Council. But no harm done. If milk is part you your low calorie - high nutrition eating plan, you may just have a little bonus coming if you drink after you work out.
