Herbs and Wet Paper TowelsI have a little herb garden to keep me supplied with my favorites like basil and oregano. Other herbs are too much of a pain to grow. Cilantro is one of my favorite herbs, but it's an annual. You have to plant it from seed, use it when it's ready, and then watch it go to seed. I'm too busy to deal with that. On the other hand I can buy a bunch of cilantro at my vegetable market for 75 cents. But if I'm not careful, it dries out in my vegetable bin and is worthless in a few days. That is unless I employ the old trick of wrapping the bundle in a damp paper towel and then putting it into my frig's vegetable bin. Then it's usable for up to 10 days. This trick works good for parsley and other leafy herbs. Even lettuce.
